The Proposal
The proposal is to permit general office and retail within the four small boutique commercial strata units located along 2270 harbour rd.
There is no risk to the vitality of harbour rd marine industrial area and businesses from this proposal. There are many benefits from allowing this minor expansion of uses to the Sidney community.

The site historically was the location of the Blue Peter Pub. It burned down and the site became a parking lot for a while

The current project was approved unanimously by Council and built several years ago and includes:
A 24 slip marina
200 storage lockers for marine community users
Two residential units
4 small retail/office/commercial units

The marine uses of the marina and marine-oriented storage are firmly established and will not leave – securing the site in meeting both the OCP and the zoning in perpetuity.
